Waitangi Day

In 1840 the treaty of Waitangi was signed by about 40 chiefs and the british crown signed the treaty in the Bay of islands Then 500 more signed.  The treaty was signed in Waitangi which is above Auckland.

The banner was getting carried because they didn't think the treaty was getting honoured enough.
Then in 1970 the protesting increased.

The treaty was signed on the 6th of February 1840
Waitangi mean water tears and is old and has symbols and crosses on the treaty because the chiefs didn't know how to write.
